Venue Review: MGallery Windsor Castle
MGallery is the new upmarket brand from Accor hotels, a mid-way point between their successful 3-4* Mercure brand and the high end 5* Sofitel brand. It solves the problem of what to do with those hotels that are a bit too special to be Mercure’s, to interesting to be a Novotel and in the wrong area to be a Sofitel. There are now 77 MGallery Hotels across the world, of which 3 can be found in the UK.
The MGallery in Windsor has just finished it’s renovation and has been transformed into a boutique hotel. Gone are the dark wood panels and patterned wall papers, and in comes the Farrow & Ball colours and decorative touches. The bedrooms have all been refurbished and the public spaces have been completely re-invigorated with beautiful soft furnishings and a calming decor.
This hotel is as perfect for leisure guests as it is for business travellers and conferences. It’s located directly opposite Windsor Castle, around 15 minutes drive from Heathrow and 20 minutes by train to Paddington. The largest conference room, The Windsor Suite, can take up to 400 delegates for a conference or 300 for a banquet and comes with it’s own built in stage & bar. There are an additional 8 event spaces for smaller meetings and breakout rooms, 3 of which can take 80 delegates. Considering the hotel is hundreds of years old it has many features that modern event planners desire, such as natural daylight and great wifi. For residential events there are 108 bedrooms onsite and another 200 within a 3min walk thanks to neighbouring hotels.
If you’re looking for the a modern residential events venue with character, good transport links, plenty of local attractions and prices that would make London venues blush then look no further.
