Venues in London With Outside Space

Depending on which newspaper you read this summer is either going to be the hottest on record, or we will be hit with an apocalyptic barrage of snowstorms, hail and sub zero temperatures. Seeing as we don’t read the Express we’ll choose to (optimistically) pin our hopes on the former option. Hot summer days in the city are magnificent. The happiness that hangs in the air is palpable. However as much as we’d all like to on days like these, we can’t just cancel those conferences and run to the pub. So here are a list of perfect summer venues which should be booked on the outside chance that the sun reveals its full glory.

The View at the Artillery Gardens Set in the grounds of the Honourable Artillery Company, The View offers a fully glazed structure with indoor and outdoor balconies. Overlooking a city centre cricket pitch this venue is made for summer parties, and should you require a bit more space then there is marquee attached that can seat 950 for dinner.

Royal College of Physicians The RCP occupies one of London’s newest Grade-1 listed buildings and is complete with a medicine garden, home to over 1000 medicinal plants. Available for summer parties and BBQs, should it not be big enough they have the additional benefit of being within Regents Park.

Regents College No prizes for guessing where this venue is. This exclusive university has it’s own magnificent grounds within Regents Park which are suitable for small team building activities, BBQs and marquee events.

Natural History Museum Set in a quieter corner of the NHM is the Darwin Centre offers an 8-storey atrium, which can host dinners for up to 150. There is direct access to the landscaped courtyard, which is perfect for a pre-dinner reception.

ZSL London Zoo Another Regents Park based venue, London Zoo offers some very unique outdoor event spaces including the option to host a drinks reception in the tiger enclosure or a BBQ on Penguin Beach!

The Trafalgar Hotel Hilton’s first unbranded property, this boutique hotel is slap bang in the middle of London and overlooking Trafalgar Square. The gem in it’s crown is the beautiful rooftop bar (Vista) which is open during the spring and summer season. Perfect for post conference cocktails or a private summer party.

KIA Oval Home of the Surrey County Cricket Club and host to numerous international fixtures throughout the year the Oval offers competitive DDR rates and can hold conferences of up to 400 and dinners for up to 500. Conveniently located a stones throw from Oval tube station the venue also has the new and impressive Corinthian Roof Terrace which can be used as an outdoor event space with superb views across the capital.
