Conference Venues for 1000+ delegates
There are thousands of events venue in London from church halls through to luxury hotels, but the vast majority of these can’t accommodate more than a few hundred people. So when you have more than a thousand delegates finding a venue big enough, let alone one that suits your event or budget, can be a real challenge. There’s a hand full of great venue out there that are geared up to deal with such numbers. When booking a large conference here are a few points to remember;
With such large numbers making sure everyone can see what’s going on is key. Theatre style is the most sensible option, cabaret for that many would probably require you having to hire one of Tesco’s warehouses. A tiered auditorium style space (think theatres) is most conducive to giving everyone a good view, if the space has a flat floor then using larger screens and LCDs around the room certainly helps.
Regardless of the length of your conference the chances are that with that many delegates attending some will need accommodation. While they wouldn’t necessarily expect this to be onsite most would want it within a short walk or tube ride. Not a concern in Central London but something to consider if you start heading away from that area.
With over a thousand people heading to an event travel connections are key. If your venue isn’t near a station then make sure there is adequate (lots!) of parking and also look at running shuttle services to nearby stations, airports and bus terminals. Also of paramount importance is to make sure the building is equipped to handle any disabilities that guests attending may have.
