Hotels for all events of all budgets
Chances are if you’ve looked for somewhere to hold a meeting or event then numerous hotel options will have cropped up in your search. They hold the strong card up their sleeves of being able to cater for everything under one roof from flip charts to bedrooms. Originally many hotels would have seen conference centres as a bit of extra income or a way to put to use those lower ground floors that weren’t good enough for bedrooms. These days many hotels rely on events income from the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences & events) sector, especially the newer breed of conference hotels with multiple large events spaces and hundreds (sometimes thousands) of bedrooms such as the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge or Grange Tower Bridge.
Below we take a look at some of London’s best hotels for conferences meetings and events.
Best hotel for luxury events - The Dorchester
The last word in Luxury The Dorchester has been serving the worlds elite, as well as numerous celebrities, for the past 80 years. Few hotels can compare to what the Dorchester offers, from it’s in house 3 Michelin star restaurant through to the opulent Ballroom which seats 500.
Best hotel for tech events - Pullman St Pancras
Having undergone a multi-million pound refit just last year the Pullman has been transformed into a 21st century hotel focussed around art, style and technology, which it blends perfectly together. From the self check in counters to the numerous meeting rooms equipped with the latest smart board technology, their newest neighbour Google will feel right at home here.
Best hotel for large events - Park Plaza Westminster Bridge
Opened in 2010 on what must have been one of London’s most desired pieces of real estate, the PPWB has come to redefine how to build modern hotels. It’s possibly on of the most environmentally friendly hotels in the UK and the proud recipient of a Gold Award from Green Tourism. Inside the hotel there is a ballroom that can accommodate conferences of 2000 and a mind blowing 1,019 bedrooms.
Best hotel for good value events - Kensington Close
Situated a stones throw from High Street Kensington this privately owned hotel boasts over 700 bedrooms and numerous meetings & events spaces, seating up to 230. While the hotel certainly isn’t a budget hotel, it does offer some very competitive rates both DDRs and for bedrooms.
Best hotel for budget events - St Giles
A prime example of a hotel utilising the lower ground floors. You can’t expect any natural daylight in their meeting rooms however you can expect to receive a warm welcome and some really great rates, both for meetings/conferences and bedrooms.
Best for boutique events - Ampersand Hotel Chelsea
The Ampersand is exactly what you would expect of a hotel in the Kensington/Chelsea area, it’s achingly cool and chic. The event spaces are small and ideal for board meetings or creative training events. Our favourite is the Games Room, which comes complete with table tennis table.
Best for events with a view - Verta Battersea
While to some Londoners Battersea may as well be in France we’d like to assure you it isn’t and it’s certainly worth venturing out to for the Hotel Verta. Situated overlooking the River Thames & Battersea Heliport (don’t worry the windows are sound proofed!) this is one hotel that doesn’t suffer from the natural daylight problem.
