An immaculate hotel in the heart of Whitehall the building has an illustrious history having once been home to the original Scotland Yard and was also used by the secret service during both world wars. This hotel manages the seemingly impossible of providing 5* grandeur, facilities and service but while making guests feel at home regardless of social status. Even a pauper like myself felt welcome and at ease there, a feeling that doesn’t always come easily in such establishments.
The event spaces on offer here at the dedicated events centre One Whitehall Place are interesting and varied. For larger events there’s the Gladstone Library or the Whitehall Suite, both accommodation conferences for 250+ and banquets of 228. The rooms have high ceiling and natural daylight, with the Whitehall Suite benefiting from views over Whitehall Gardens and the Thames. There are numerous other rooms available for smaller meetings, events and private dining. The venue style is very much traditional but not in a stuffy way. The AV is provided by way of an external company and the catering is of the mouth watering standard you’d expect from a hotel with a 2 AA Rosette restaurant.
