Cool Events Venues in London
Anyone remember the days of Cool Britannia? Defined as a night in Ministry of Sound, partying to Oasis with Damian Hirst, all while wearing a Union Jack dress a la Geri Halliwell. These days ‘cool’ has a whole new meaning; beards, bricks, bikes, burgers, street food, white spaces, old spaces, they all go to redefine this ever changing adjective.
If you happen to be looking for a cool venue in London we have some great options. They may not be to everyone’s taste, but if you’re the sort of chap who like to likes to jump on his fixed gear bike and head down to a gentrified East End pub for a pint of craft lager and a good beard stroke, then here are some places you’ll love.
Bounce Everyone knows that the coolest sport in the world is ping-pong, it’s common knowledge. Bounce teams table tennis with beer, and for that we love them, but they also offer conference spaces for when you really have to pretend to be a bit gown up and boring. The largest area seats 200 and has it’s own 10ft wide cinema screen. There’s a private room too for 60 guests or board meetings (not ‘bored’ meetings….never mind) of 28.
Hoxton Arches At one time railway arches were the preserve of dodgy mechanics, now painted white they can be hired for events. The Hoxton Arches comprises of 2 rooms with white walls and exposed brick ceilings, as well as an enclosed private garden. A great venue for Art Exhibitions/ Books Festivals/Conferences/Fashion Shows/Private & Corporate Parties/Film & Photographic event etc.
Oval Space With a whopping 6000 square feet of clear span ‘statement’ space, this Bethnal Green venue is perfect for uber cool fashion shows, gigs, temporary cinemas and pop ups. There’s even outdoor space overlooking an old gasworks for the extra ‘distressed’ effect.
Pickle Factory Once a Pickle Factory in London’s cockney heartland, this warehouse then became a medical supplies storage space until it was finally reinvented as a venue sometime in 2013. Now a blank canvas location, The Pickle Factory has been turned into a cosy, chic and versatile events space.
Trispace Gallery More than just a gallery Trispace offers a superb 1200SqFt events venue for small exhibitions, performances/gigs, film screenings, parties & more. And all in a disused biscuit factory near Bermondsey.
Ice Bar - “What’s cooler than being cool? Ice cold!” - This venue is 90% here for me to use that line, although it is pretty awesome, and beards come in real useful at -5.
