Park Plaza Victoria - SW1V 1EQ
Victoria isn’t an area of London known for it’s glamour. In the past it’s been seen as the poorer, less exciting relation to it’s neighbours Westminster & Belgravia. This, however, is all about to change as Victoria under goes a huge renovation project and continues to attract big name businesses to the area.
The Park Plaza Hotel is a stones throw from Victoria Station. With 299 bedrooms it’s a major player for local business travellers. That said we feel it’s probably better suited with the title of London’s best conference hotel. The beauty of being able to design a hotel from the ground up, rather than re-purpose and existing building, is that you can make it perfect. That’s what they have done here. The main conference floor (-1) offers a spacious reception/registration area, which leads into a main suite capable of seating conferences of 550 or dinners for 400, there’s even a car lift should it be required. To the side there are two well sized breakout areas and a conference office. Down one floor is a section of suites accommodating between 30-300 delegates, that can be split into 10 breakout rooms. Ultimately it has what many conference venues/hotels wish they did, perfect layouts, numerous well sized spaces and a decent number of bedrooms.
A further note about the hotel is the restaurant, Tozi. Park Plaza are very good at offering interesting hotel dining experiences and Tozi is easily their best yet. A street facing restaurant that is packed most evenings of the week with local work crowds enjoying their traditional Venetian Chichetti. Tozi is rated on tripadvisor as one of the best restaurants in London, and having been 3 times now myself I whole heartedly agree.
