About this venue
The h Club London was Founded by Paul Allen and Dave Stewart. The story goes that one night, Paul and Dave were having a drink in Covent Garden when they spotted a boarded-up building over the road. Between them, they hatched a plan to revive this once elegant shell, and transform it into a hub of creativity – full of people, ideas, music and life.
Paul bought the former St Paul’s Hospital in 1996. Renovations began on the interior in 1999 and The Hospital Club opened its doors in 2004. Dave Stewart worked in close collaboration with Paul on the creation of the Club vision and continues to be a key figure in developing the Club’s creative direction.
Paul remains passionate about supporting the British Creative Industries. As the Club enters its second decade, this support is growing stronger and stronger: by the creation of the new charitable h.Club Foundation supporting young people in the creative workspace; by Sustainability Week, inspiring members to rise to the green challenge in their day to day work; by the h.Club100 celebrating creative achievement in all its diversity; by the Club Art programme and the Studio output that each continue to thrive as the Club grows from strength to strength.
